"It’s like eavesdropping on a séance that’s simultaneously a house party".

Ruby was awarded the Creative Engineers Special Achievement Award at the conclusion of the Central Coast Council; Discovered and Battle of the Bands competitions, 2024

Ruby was the recipient of the 2024 Australian Women in Music Awards - Emerging Artist Award. She was selected for her “unique and raw honesty which creates a direct and emotional connection with audiences".

Ruby was nominated for the 2024 SoundMerch Australian Music Prize (AMP). One judge commented: "Every change in feel, rhythm, mood and tempo is like a sugar rush to my brain. Ruby's been to school and it shows. Her sound and attitude, at times, reminds me of Fiona Apple; but also contains simultaneous hints of Muse or Billie Holiday. A bold debut promising an exciting future."

Ruby is one of 16 songwriters and composers selected for the 2024 APRA AMCOS 23% Mentorship program, an initiative that aims to support women, non-binary and gender-diverse music creators by providing professional guidance and funding assistance toward their work. Ruby is beyond excited that she has been allocated the incredible Mark Lizotte (Diesel) as her mentor!

Competing against hundreds of entries, Ruby wins the top spot in the Youth Category of the Australian Songwriters Association Awards and has the honour of being interviewed by Brian Ward and performing solo at the Awards night.

"Not only taking to the stage, but absolutely bossing it at our Fifteen Years of Unearthed High celebrations, this talented musician from the Central Coast oozes confidence and radiates professionalism. Winning the triple j Unearthed competition (and deservedly so) this seventeen-year-old act has proved that she’s an innovator. Through her passion, hard work, technical ability and dedication to her craft, if there’s anyone who’s going to create an entirely new chord our bets are on Ruby Archer!"

Filmed for over a year on the NSW Central Coast, this half hour documentary follows the stories of local elder Uncle Kevin 'Gavi' Duncan, the staff and students at Woy Woy Public School, young singer-songwriter Ruby Archer and the Artistic Director of the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music, Patrick Brennan. At a time when humanity is increasingly disconnected from self, from each other and from the land on which we live, MUSIC CENTRAL is a timely roadmap for healing.

"Ruby has won us over through the power of her live performance...there’s something so encapsulating about the way that she carries audience members through the expanse of her emotions and experiences...Through such an honest delivery, this emerging act has a special way of tinkering with the feelings of the audience and mood of a crowd. She keeps listeners on their toes wondering what’s to come next?... triple j Music Director Richard Kingsmill has left a whopping four and a half star review"
